Artist Statment.

I have spent many summers in the serene environment of northern Greece.

I observe and document its natural beauty, especially its seascapes and sculptural and unique rock formations.

These experiences inspire my artistic journey and lead me to explore the ways in which art and nature co-exist.

With my work, I look to reimagine what I have observed in my surroundings.

This is why in my latest work, it was important to me to use tones and colours found in nature,

ranging from the vibrant and floral to the more subdued and earthy.

In my art, I am drawn to several mediums (painting, printing, stitching, sculpting) while incorporating the use of acrylic paint, ink, wax and aluminium. This range of mediums reflects the diversity of my natural surroundings and allows me to use numerous techniques.

I am drawn to the imperfections of natural forms, which I see as their soul. These come to life when I purposefully keep them in the lost wax process. By showing the process of how I work, I want to make each work unique and to reflect the inevitable natural decay. These motifs of transformation and decay can be seen throughout my work.

I am always aware that “each rock carries the scars of time” within it, so I seek to trace

and express its form and everything about it that profoundly resonates with me.
